Hi,

I've been trying to find out some clear instuctions on how to use my LC4 Mug Press. I can't find any clear advice on timing and temp. I'm using Ricoh Inks, so I believe that means that I need to have the press a little cooler??

I've put some photo's of my mugs below. As you can see some of the colours are faded. I've also got a slight problem on some of the edges, they are a different colour. And the colour is a bit faded on the red mug, but the one I did before that came out much better (apart from the edges)

If someone could give me some info on time and heat that would be so helpful. My first few came out fine but it's going downhill!!:mad: I am trying to source a manual, but thats not happening either :frown:

looks like you're trying to get a bit too near to the handle. Some presses get nearer than others but generally you can't get that close. Are you using 10 or 11oz mugs? What size is your template?

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm using a 10oz mug and my template is 214mm x92mm. Do you think my press is too hot?

I agree with Justin.. it looks like you are trying to get too close to the handle and your press can't cope with it.. hence the fading in those areas.

Thanks for the reposnse....what about the fading of the photo on the red mug? If you see them both together one is much less vibrant? Is that a heat issue or timing?

I use 200 x 90 which is comfortably within my own print area, possibly reducing yours to 200mm will help What press are you using? or upload a pic....

Try reducing down to 200mm and see if that helps. Not sure how close that press will get.

would you recommend 180 deg for 150sec? Thanks for your help

I'm currently cooking at 170c for 180secs.
