Hi Guys

Anyone on here printing tea towels using the sublimation process?

If so what are your thoughts on them in terms of quality of the item? I am not referring to the print, just the feel of the actual item. is it like sublimation tee's where it is okay but not brilliant or are they spot on?

Also, if you do use them where do you buy from or are they all the same?

Will only be printing A3 size so the 42x55cm ones are what I am looking at.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I had thoughts about printing things like souvenir tea towels, until I tried to dry some dishes with a polyester cloth. Not very successful.
Then I found microfibre towels used for cleaniing anf polishing cars. They are 100% polyester and actually do absorb water, so will dry things. But being mde like a towel, I wasn;t sure they would sublimate.
Well, when I pressed them, they flattened out and looked terrible, but after a bit of brushing and shaking they got that nice 'terry towelling' look again, and had a very interesting, but good sublimated image and text.
If you can fiind an absorbent 100% polyester cloth, you might find it interesting - I certainly did.
BTW, I'm not actually doing tea towels, I am making hand towels. But the idea is similar.

The fully printable versions which are about are awful. This is the shiney type. Just pushes water about rather than dries anything. They look old fashioned as well. Not sure why they have not got a decent one on the market as thought they were a good item to personalize. Microfibre ones similar as mentioned above do a better job but are more like a cloth than tea towel.
