Got my printers, Epson xp 205's. One for the mugs with sub inks one for my t shirts etc.. I still have to set them up but now I read about ICC Profiles? There is always something getting in my way of starting. Do I have to get one of these? I'm wondering if I'm ever going to get off the ground. And no, I'm not extremely patient! Advice anyone?

You do not HAVE to have a ICC profile to print and sublimate. But your colours could potentially be a mile away from what they should be. You will not destroy the printer by using it without the ICC profile so you can start testing and while perfecting your methods you can get a profile made.

Hiya, thanks for your reply. I will have a go printing without the profile for starters but I do want my work to look pukka, so how and where do I get a profile from and how do I get it on the printer? I know I sound extremely thick but I'm determined to understand all of this in the end.

Ask Paul, a member on this forum.
Not sure how much they cost and do not know how to install them but he is a bit of a guru on this so will know everything you need to know.

Yup, Paul is the guy to get in touch with, and will likely be along in a bit to explain all. Cost about £25 IIRC. Without this, your computer will not know how to mix the 4 ink colours in your printer to produce the colours you are seeing on screen.

As pisquee says, do a search.
This thread will not really discuss anything about profiles, just where to get them and as already explained, why

I have to print without an ICC profile for practical reasons. My suggestion based on my experience withouth one - Get an ICC profile
