Subli supplies have a third off all in stock items until the end of May, to celebrate the arrival of the new baby!!

I was thinking about to put that newsletter on here too but when I looked on they web site I found out most items are out of stock so not very good sale ayy?
no mugs. no t-shirt etc... only small bits and bobs.

I looked a couple of days ago and the March sale was still on. Wasn't the baby born in March ?

Trouble is that their offer only applies to "33% off all in stock items on the site".

So I trot along to see what I might need to restock.

10oz mugs, oh 25 quid, that's a good price ... no, it's out of stock.
Colour Change Mugs, oh 1.78 ea, that's a good price ... no, it's out of stock.
What about some smashproof mug boxes? 23p, that's a good price ... no, it's out of stock.
Uni-sub coasters at 64p, there's a good price ... no, they're out of stock.
Adjustable mug clamp for 20 quid, there's a good price ... no, it's out of stock.
26x20cm Placemats, 1.88 is a good price ... no, it's out of stock.

Pretty much everything I might want to buy in their alleged "sale" is out of stock and so doesn't qualify, despite the website showing the discounted price.

So, as Paul noted, it seems you can have a third off ... nothing of interest.

Hmm, I think I'll adopt the same tactic on my website and proclaim "100% off in-stock items" and then state that everything's out of stock. I'm sure my customers won't mind.

See if they'll back order for you and still do the same deal...

Well, I figure they won't because they clearly state "in stock items on the site". They use that phrase twice on their front page, both in big green letters and then in huge capital red letters.

They don't say "33% off all items on the site" or items you may order by phone or other means. I suspect it's precisely worded so that they can get rid off any dead stock they have while still claiming it to be a big sale. I'd rather spend my money with a supplier that's a little less devious.
