Hi All,
I have been doing my first few mugs this week. I brought my setup off a company on ebay and so far have had some good results... until now!
I have my press set to 180 deg and set for 180 sec. So far the mugs have come out not too bad until now
below is a photo of the strange lines on the mug... there were not there on the print before they were placed on the mug;
and this is happening to the end of the print..... could this be due to it not being clamped on that area?
My other mugs have been good:
Any help would be fantastic.
Cheers
Dan

The edge is blurring because you're trying to get too close to the handle. Always try and leave a small gap top and bottom as per your other prints to avoid other issues here.
Are you sure those lines aren't on the print? They look like track marks from the printer.

yeah not on the print at all... I printed a second mug and double checked the print before placing on the mug, but got the same lines?!?!

Have you looked at your blanket in the mug press, it may need a clean as that may be where the lines are coming from.

Also, on the second mug, did the lines appear in exactly the same position?

To me that would suggest a problem after printing, the reason I say this is because if the lines are appearing in exactly the same place it would make sense that it is a printer issue as it is laying down the "lines" in the same place each time.
Firstly have a good look at your heat press blanket and check that it is spotless. You could try wrapping a teflon sheet around the mug after the printed wrap to prevent any bleed through. If the lines still appear then it is a printer problem, but just to make 100% sure, if you have anything else available that you could sublimate on (i.e. a phone cover) then that will prove one way of another that it is the printer or the press.
You could also try putting the mug in the press the other way round to see if the lines are in the same place in relation to the print on the mug, or the placement in the press.

Just having a think.... the mug shown was printed at the same time as the second mug. (I printed both then cut to size) so I guess it could be the printer! - any tips on cleaning it if ink has got on the rollers? lol

Sorry, I do not have any tips for cleaning as fortunately it has never happened to me.
If its anything like other printers then running a few sheets tends to clean it, however this is dye sub ink which is not cheap!
