Hi I have a Ricoh SG3110DN printer, brought it as a complete package of printer and ink. I have not used it a great deal and still on the first set of cartridges and they are now showing as empty, also the waste ink collector is shown as full. Is this normal for the first set of cartridges achieving less than 100 mugs and filling a waste collector? Any help will be appreciated Many Thanks

If you haven't already updated the firmware then you should do this straightaway. This can reduce cleaning cycles dramatically which may be the case with your printer.

you can download the latest firmware from here! http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_ ... m#Firmware

all you gotta do is run the file, as far as i can remember from when i last did it.

Hi, I have tried a firmware update but it will not work I am guessing this is because the cartridges are empty. Another question does the shelf life of the cartridges have an impact on the ink wastage as I have just noticed that the ink that is totally depleted was use by June 2013 even though I only brought them in November 2012, and the other 3 say use by August 2013. Thanks

Press and hold the up and down arrows together, release and then press the # key (Well, that's on my 7100 so I guess it's the same?)

i have read in a few places and seen on a conde systems youtube video that it can use a large percentage of your ink on the first installation due to filling the printer lines but they say it will last much longer the second set of inks you use. i'm thinking of getting this printer but im worried about the expensive ink costs.

Have a look at this document to see the costs of printing images. The costs don't seem so high then!:
