Just picked up another Mug Press. Timer is slightly different to anything I've seen before. Not sure if it's one that kicks in when temp is right, haven't tested it that far yet! Just wondered if anyone had seen one like it? It has a button as you can see on the pic for S, M, H's (secs, mins, hours) Seems to switch the temp. display off when I switch the timer on.

I have one like that. My first mug press. Came with no instructions and after I made a lot of crockery drainage for flower pots, I bought a cheap digital timer. Now I'm also using one off the cheap Chinese presses that heats up in seconds and puts out mugs as fast add I can tape the next one.

The first press takes longer to warm up than the cheap one takes to heat, then press 3 mugs.

The downside of the cheap one seems to be a need to keep a spare heat elephant on hand.

I'll be watching to see if there are any clues to how this timer is meant to work. Mine has a 2 position switch near it that I assume sets dwell temp and press temp, but the manuals I found online for similar presses

if thats the only display on it, then the temp is preset i think, and you only have a timer we had one like this a while ago,

never had a spare "elephant" on hand though, as i don't have the room, the first one can barely stand up in our workshop, and once heated seems to take up even more room - as for the mess, don't even go there, but we had to invest in a bigger shovel

No, there's a seperate temp section, this is just the timer.

aaah right should be fairly straight forward then, ours makes a lot of clunking and clicking when you turn the timer on and off, but it works very well

Press appears to be working just fine but I can't get the timer to do anything. I can change the display although it makes little sense, the main temp. screen goes off when the timer is switched on, possibly faulty? I'll get the back off and have a look see ;-)

i tried the elephant plugging it in was very awkward it wouldnt standstill and for the life of me i couldnt find where the mug went in. It just stands in the corner of the room now,we dont talk about it
