Hi All,

When I first opened my bricks and mortar shop I bought a 1 year hosting plan from one.com for my website but now I am looking to change over to something a little more robust. Ive also had issues with my webmail email addresses which are also through them where I havent been able to have them on my iphone/ipad which is a pain but I have lived with it up till now.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good hosting solution where I could transfer my domain over as well as the email addresses attached to them (sales@tlworkwear.co.uk for example). My domain expires on 7th August and I would love to have moved everything over by then if possible. TIA for any suggestions.

Chis_Hosk is your man. He is a member on this forum and its what they do. I have had a couple of prices from him and although have not done anything with him yet (due to me not getting my backside in gear), his prices are very competitive.

Give steve a call or email him http://www.christianhosting.org.uk/
He will be able to do all that for you. Also he has best prices and brilliant customer service. He actualy know what he is doing, not like some hosting companys

If you haven't I'd register the domain with names.co.uk. I do all of mine through them, for some reason it makes me feel a little safer! But a transfer can take up to 30 days.

Depending on what your traffic is, for hosting you could try eukwebhost.com, the chap there is called Matt. They're about £35/year.
There's flump.net who are more like £35/qtr, more professional, and they'll answer ticket queries at pretty much any time, ie: 2am! The guy I speak to is called Hendrick.
Never really had any problems with either, they both use cPanel, can IMAP emails to clients/phones and have web login, box trappers, spam, the works.

Was your shop built from scratch or as a package with the domain?
If you need to transfer the files then you'll have fun with permissions at the other end!! :p

@paul I might have spoken to him before regarding a different matter so will contact him as well, thanks.

@Johnny I built the site myself in Wordpress so have all the files backed up so hopefully shouldn't be too much of an issue (famous last words!). Thanks for the links as well, I'll have a look at them now and also look at names.co.uk as looking at another name to run alongside my current one.

Ok thanks Just PM'd him so will hopefully hear back soon.

moving wordpress sites can sometimes be problematic...it's not just a question of moving the folder on the server, you'll have to backup/import databases etc too.

Just a heads up as well, I don't know if it's happening for everyone or just me, but for some reason when I go to your site the wordpress admin bar is visible at the top of the page! it doesn't let me in to any of the admin areas, but it might be something you should look at.

Hmm thats worrying.. Ive actually just changed my theme after you posted this but will look into it to see if its still happening. Thanks for the heads up anyway

no worries mate, don't see it there anymore so must've been something with the original theme. was happening in both Chrome and Safari as well.
