had this link a while and thought it was time to pop it up, its the clearest explanation of the cutter offset values, and might help anyone setting up their cutter

http://vinylcutterfaq.com/techniques.html this link is now dead

http://www.graphteccorp.com/support/app ... _Setup.pdf

try this one, just read to the bottom and ignore the blade set up if you are on a different cutter

Thanks and very good to know. Took me ages when I first got my cutter to work it all out so will be very handy for anyone who has just got a new cutter!

Well done to Paul for maxing this sticky :-) I'll take a look myself later, I had a link from Conde about the same and forgot to follow that up.

As this thread was about offsets etc. I thought I'd post this link. http://www.edwardmathias.com/ This company make replacement blades and have their own Smart knives which are so easy to use compared to changing conventional blades. I've been using them for years for both my Graphtec and Summa cutters. They are also suppliers of plotters and can give an absolute wealth of information especially regarding the best blade/angle for a given material. Well worth bookmarking this site if you are a plotter user.
