Hi All

I have a few ideas for some products that I am currently developing. One of them I think will benefit from doming so am wondering if anyone here already does it.

Is it easy (once you get the hang of it) or is it something to farm out to a specialist?

Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I know that the likes of Xpress offer doming kits etc but would rather not speak to a sales person until I have found out from actual users.

Yes I do it, it's not hard but you need a dust free environment and the right humidity levels otherwise you will have a nightmare, also the doming resin has a shelf life. Happy to help with any other questions you have.

Hi Jason

Thanks for the info, roughly how long does it take to do say 100 keyring size objects and how long do they take to dry?

Is the resin expensive or cheap as chips?

I assume you can use any decent self adhesive vinyl (I run a Versacam) to print on before doming?

We ventured into it at one point, still got all the kit. But never managed to drum up the demand.
Always print with curved corners!

I have found that there is not a lot of demand for it. Its more hassle than its worth.

I've been developing a few new lines with doming but mainly intend to outsource. I have a very good manufacturer in place as I reckon to do any kind of volume it could be problematic to get a retail level finish.
