I am new here so hello. I will be posting an hello also in new members introductions.

Anyhow I am developing a t shirt project and have emailed a few companies in order to see if they print transfers so I can heat press my own shirts. I was looking at A3 size and the image would be photographic. Not one reply. I guess it is small fry.

I trust there is perhaps easier ways to do this, but this way seemed to fit with my prefered method of working. I may have the chance to visit a few places and did not want to faff around printing and all that.

Finally I would prefer transfers to be suitable for red shirts.

If anyone is operating a small print or transfer company I would be grateful for ideas on cost per print and also for volume, say 20 to 50 prints. If your costs are sensitive then a PM would be great.

PS. I am also looking at DTG and will post question there rather than clog up one thread with differing questions.

Don't know of any UK-based companies, but I have come across a company in France who specialise in this type of work, and can produce for sublimation or standard heat-transfer and up to DIN A3. Would that work for you?

Target Transfers in the UK, Braintree I think.

I can print CMYK on to white vinyl transfers if that's what you're after? They're also cut to shap.

I would suggest you get one made first as photographic transfers that size on a tee shirt I think will look/feel awful and I suspect Johnny and others would agree.

Johnny and Roger C (and probably others on the site) do them. I can do them but the machine is stacked at the moment so would not get it done until late next week.

Personally for quality I would pursue a DTG route. There are plenty of members on here that have DTG and will be able to assist you in either choosing a DTG or setting up a trade deal.

Not trying to take work away form you Johnny, its just my opinion on photographic transfers this size on garments

socialgiraffe, no worries, I'll live off bread and water this week.

horrorshirt, DTG is certainly better quality than full colour transfers as far as the feel of the final product, but (as far as I'm aware) the cost is more. Depends whether you're going for fashion (then i'd recommend dtg or screen), or corporate (then I'd say transfer).
