Just to get the ball rolling, who is already up and running with wide format (42" I believe) on sublimation?

We went wide format for ink purposes but as of yet don't use the printer for wide prints. Looking to start using the width soon and develop this part of the business and see what items to introduce. A rotary press I am currently looking into as well to open up other opportunities.

I am just sourcing my table press at the moment, i have to go and have a couple more demos of the ones i am looking at and then i need to decide. I will be going for the large slide in table pneumatic press with a wide format printer so i can do full face sub tee's amoungst other things.

In the meantime i am getting an epson printer that can do larger prints before i outlay what i need to.

We've had large format printers for a while, mainly bought for the ink options, but also the better build quality/reliability, but our biggest presses were just over A2 size (55cm x 65cm) we have done some printing to those sizes, but not a huge amount.
Our HeatJet 43 was delivered last week (110cm rotary press) but it's not up and running yet, as we got another large format printer in, which is needing attention flushing out the crappy unbranded Chinese pigment inks the last owner had used (and clogged some of the nozzles with)
So, we're aiming for printing big scarves, along with cut and sew blouses, skirts, dresses, cushion covers etc for our own products/designs, but also for getting more orders in from other artist/designers.

I've only ever done small scale dye sub. What exactly can you print large scale? And how big is large scale?

Large scale generally means bigger than A3 really but really depends on who you talk to sawgrass would have you believe wide format is 44inch and above

I will be doing full face t shirt prints, hoodies and various other things. Can't wait to be honest. Getting a refurbished epson for now and a large bed press as soon as I decide which one.

I would say that large format begins at 17" wide/A2 - I think Epson also class these as large/wide format. Sawgrass have 42" and above as wide format in terms of their ink licensing structure, with 24" machines somewhat a grey area for them.
Yuo can print full rolls of metre wide (and above) fabric, for then production (cut and sew) into garments, but also other large things, like banners, flags, carpet...

where san you get rubber backed floor mats from any idea?

Will a wide format print as small as one third of A4?
