Just out of interest, how do those that have Refillable Cartridges top them up when more ink is required?

Do you, take the cartridge out of the printer and top it up - or do you top up the ink whilst the cartridge is still in the printer?

I'm only asking as I did have Refillable Cartridges in a system last year (now have a CISS) but I tried both ways, taking them out is obviously cleaner to top up but leaving them in is quicker - but prone to spillages as you can't (sometimes) see the ink levels.

Just curious what others do?

The carts I use don't reset if I refill in place so I have to remove them.

We refill in place - just keep them topped up - can see when they're running low. Turned off the ink counters in the service menu, so we don't have to remove the carts to reset the chips.
