hi i was just trying to do some iphone cases but just cant manage to get a smooth finish tired loads of different times temps but just not working for me im not sure what im doing wrong..... so i thought let me see if anyone else has had the same problem and found a solution to it.

the printer im using is a ricoh sg3110dn

temps tried: 190 - 60sec, 175 - 120 secs, 190 - 40 secs etc

any advises?

Did you take the plastic protective coating off before pressing?

sorry forgot to mention that yes i did remove the clear coating.

Are you pressing print side down and using a soft/medium pressure i do them like this at 190 for 45-55 secs

I cant see paper effecting texture, it could coating melting to easy, where did you get cases from

i got them from a seller on aliexpress (china), i've watched quite a few videos online in all of them paper sticks to the metal but mine dont.

Sounds like the coating could be rubbish n melting to easy, did they not give you time n temp. I've never had paper stick to any of the cases i press including samsung, blackberry, htc etc

If the image looks good when you look at it square on, then you are getting the fine pattern from the platen or its cover, use a silicon sheet between the platen and the paper. this will smooth everything out. if the image is poor when you look at it square on then ignore the above.

Not saying I have the answer, just the answer to a problem I had in the past.

Are your covers kept somewhere nice and warm and dry, or somewhere cold and/or damp?
If the latter - it could be a moisture thing -- pre press them before using,or put them somewhere warm before using
