Yep I have had a violation issued against me. Inciting Violence.
The offending offering....
I will not keep calm and you can f##k off.
The letters were not in place, but could be added on request.

Is that really inciting violence?

The problem isn' t the removal of the article but that another violation apparently closes my account.

The swearing, or lack of, can't be the problem as there are many articles on eBay full of rude words.

What a totally random decision.

Same here. I appealed my decision because it sure as hell aint violent (all my keep calm and.... ) and its currently being processed. Mind you there are over half a million keep calm items on ebay alone so it may take em a while.

In saying that I phoned up and complained that there are on the front page for KEEP CALM tshirts, phone covers, mugs etc which contain

KEEP CALM AND BEAT THE ENGLISH
KEEP CALM AND BEAT THE WELSH (etc)
KEEP CALM AND FECK OFF.

I despair at eBay... it gets worse and worse and lurches from the sublime to the ridiculous at times.

ebay act when someone complains,
they dont actualy trawl the listings themselves,
its more likely competition reported your listing.

When I spoke to eBay Customer Support they told me they were going through *every* keep calm listing in light of recent events (ie Amazon tshirts). They said any item that could possibly be taken as potentially violent were getting binned. Even when its obviously not violent but a bit... *unusual* they said they were binning items and would be able to relist if appealed correctly.

The CS woman I spoke to said that there was no way my item could be construed as violent, but they were taking no chances with things that werent immediately apparent.

The items I listed with Keep Calm... dont violate any copyright. Not even the theoretical case of the company who claim copyright on Keep Calm and Carry On.

I have placed my appeal having read every bit of advice they give. It doesn't contravene any of their guidelines apart from the catch all of "material that may be deemed offensive". Now that means "Eat More Pork" or "Eat More Beef" could also be binned!

It's not so much the removal of the item, but the "Violation" issue.

Ohh well nothing a cup of coco won't sort out.

Just caught up with the Amazon News. Some companies really should be held to account for their stupidity, and eBay held to account for Corporate Knee Jerk Stupidity.

Coco coming along nicely.

The eBay CS woman (and the second one I phoned to ask how long the appeal would take) stated that it was a blanket ban on anything that they think may be (and if it wasnt immediately innoffensive ie KC and Bake a Cake etc) or could be contrued as Violent.

Hell I dont sell many of the ones that were removed (maybe 1 or 2 per month if that) but its now becoming the principle of thing.

It seems that ebay went mad for a day or two in response to that idiot tshirt company that sold "rape" tshirts....i wonder if that 'bad publicity' rocketed their sales!?!?!

ebay is now getting incredibly silly with their T&C's and also the new Powerseller/TRS changes. Im kinda lucky...im not TRS, even though my DSR's are all 4.9!! it seems a few bad apples of customers mostly from america who mark me down for bad delivery dates can seriously knock your ratings!

It's a joke!

i get mails all the time asking "where's my item" ...when they're from the USA or Australia and they've only ordered a few days before.

The best messages are "HEY YOU...I ORDERED MY CASE 2 HOURS AGO....WHERE IS IT?????????????????????????????????? IF YOU DONT ANSWER I WILL REPORT YOU AND GIVE YOU NEG....ANSWER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????"

Oh yes^ oh so true. I now meet ebay customers with the contempt they deserve! Oh i wish I could just tell them "F**k OFF YOU SPOTTY LITTLE 15 YEAR OLD!"

rant over...thanks :)

that feels good lol

LOL...and i thought i had a temper  so true tho, so true .
question - are ebay really trying to destroy there business or do they really think they are doing good here with all the changes, and really stupid buyer protection and sod all protection for the seller at all.

I really wonder what there think tank of business/decision makers are really up to here, cause this much change and buyer protection really makes me wonder about the bigger picture here
