Finally worked out how to get old videos onto dvd's successfully I now need to rip these dvd's onto my PC for editing. The files created are .vob and I'm having difficulty finding software to import them. Only need something very simple so that I can trim sections out.
Trawling the net for solutions, found a few that claim to do it but so overcomplicated.
Anyone any ideas on how best to do this please?
Also, looking to rip dvd's to watch on iPad, thought this would be easy but alas it also seems overcomplicated!
Appreciate any advice

Not on my list of 'already tried' so I'll give it a go! Many thanks Paul. Just managed to import a .vob and change it to .avi for editing but it was a bit of a long way around. Cheers.

If you want it and are able to use it, I have a pci card for Pinnacle v.14.... its a complete editing suite that can capture from cameras, old video recorders, HDCams, and loads of other stuff. I bought it to convert 15 cam videos from my mums ancient camera and did the job very well. If you want it you can have it. I have no need for it. PM me if you are interested.... and NO... I dont want any money for it, I have had my use from it. The software that comes with this card is amazing too. Loads of options etc and great results. (Must have a PCI slot... NOT a PCI2 or PCIe... the latter are newer slots.) If you dont want it... if anyone else does.... just PM me.

The model is Pinnacle MovieBoard HD v.14
