Hi Everyone,
just trying to cost everything up prior to setting up, I was wondering how people package up mugs for post, and how much it costs?
i'm unsure whether to go with poly boxes or cardboard at the moment? anyone share experience/postage details (and how many are likely to be smashed en route to customer?

Polyboxes everytime for me.

I know they take up more space, but I have never had one break when using them. I have purchased the so called guaranteed cardboard postal boxes and in 400 or so postings have had about 10 breakages.

Personally prefer smash proof boxes over poly. Noticed some folk put the mugs into smash proof boxes the wrong way around and therefore protection not as good as they roll around

Justin, I swear you must have a webcam in my office I never realised that there was a correct way to put them in and I bet that is why some of them smashed!

I prefer the smash proof boxes & never have a problem with them. I send mugs as far as Australia using them & have never had one broken one yet.

hmm - might end up trying both! - which ones are heavier/is their much in it? - thinking of how much it would cost to actually post?

I put mine in the gift box supplied, then wrap in lots of bubble wrap and then brown paper. No breakages so far. Postage is £2.20 second class royal mail which gets there in 2 days usually.

There is nominal difference between each and if you are sending via Royal Mail the cost is the same regardless.

I always send my single mugs 1st class which is £2.70. I think it is worth paying that extra 50p as they always usually get there the next day.
Yesterday I received an order for one mug & it was with the customer today. I got an email from that customer who was very impressed with the speed which I think is good customer service.
