Does anyone know how to view more accurate ink levels than just looking at the display?

I think i buried my instuction book below the xmas dec boxes :(

There are posts on here that suggest some software, but these still work on estimates of ink usage rather than physical measurement of the ink in the cartridge. The Ricoh printer will continue to print until the last drop of ink is pulled from the cartridge - once this happens and there is no ink left to suck out of the cartridge then the cartridge shows empty and needs replacing.
