Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has tried or has any experience of sublimating on to guitar straps or plectrums.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks
Mark.

Mark, The Magic Touch do have leather guitar straps but, you need a laser printer & their CPM Paper. Here's the link for you to have a look at
http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/acatalog ... Strap.html & might be worth a call to find out more from them.

I have used Magic Touch paper to print on to plectrums which worked really well.
I think it was their hard surface light paper, just check with them as I am pretty sure they have a video of how to do it.

Thanks Ian, I'll have a look. I don't use a laser printer at the moment, I was looking for a polyester type of strap. There's plenty of pre printed straps but I cant find any blanks.

That sounds interesting socialgiraffe, I'll check it out. Did you use any specific kind of plectrum? I'm just thinking they could easily melt in the press.

Nothing special. Have a friend who owns a guitar shop and just popped down there and picked out the thickest ones. They do melt but as long as you let them cool down before moving then they retain their shape. I printed a full colour Judas Priest image (lots of flames and a very detailed logo). Was really impressed with the quality.
Will point out that after I printed it I kept the item in my pocket for about two months. During that time whenever I could I got the item out and rubbed it. After two months it did start to wear off. However I rubbed often (ooo err) so reckon it was well over two years of normal use.
Using Magic Touch paper for this sort of item does require practice to get a good feel for it, but then they are so small and cheap you do not actually waste too much ink, paper and money practicing.

Sound good, I'll give it a shot and let you know how I get on. Thanks for the advice.
