shows how bad my eyes have got with constant pc work over the last 4yrs.
already wear specs for everyday use but was finding the pc was giving me eye strain, making me sleepy with extended use.
got my new reading specs today - WOW....lol - i had to turn all the fonts/web pages settings DOWN 2 sizes on the pc .

god, was i that bad ? - obviously.
Got the reading ones with the anti-glare treatment on the lens to save on more eye strain from the monitor.
Also means i can turn UP the brightness and contrast a see things on my monitor in more vivid brightness and contrast - what a differance things look

i hate getting older

I debated having normal and reading glasses but eventually plumped for varifocals so I only had one pair to worry about.

Took 3 weeks to get used to them but I'm glad I persevered.

Yep, getting old sucks :)

Yep, happened here as well. I thought they were printing newspapers with smaller print until I bought glasses. Happened in my mid 40´s when I started with computers.
Mine are variable focus as well, and the problem I have is when I stand up and have to walk down stairs while wearing them . Eee thats scary.

LOL.....glad its not just me in my 40's then with the same problem

the lady suggested varifocals but my mate had em and told me he's had more falls since getting them he wished he'd never bothered.

sod that, i,m bad enough without having any falls - 2nd pair of reading glasses it is then .

I was prescribed vaifocals last October, fell down the stairs within the first 3 weeks of trying to get used to them (not from the top admittedly) but id rather not fall down any.
They are fine when i'm sat still, so not much use to me really
