When im printing a mug with black text (although havnt tried any other colour yet) it seems great nearest the handles but then fades off to a dark brownish colour the further round towards the middle it goes.
Ricoh 3110
Trupix paper
10oz coral mugs with yellow handle
Coral4 mug press
Im putting mug in cold then turning machine on waiting until it gets 175c then cook for 170mins.
What am i doing wrong?

Vicki, makes sure the paper is tight on the mug & try dropping you temp down to 170c. Hope your only doing them for 170 seconds not miniutes

Vicki, put a spare mug in until it gets up to temp & then put the mug into press.

I have the same set up but i allow another 40sec as when you put a cold mug in the temp drops to about 145c So in total 180c and 220s and not getting any problems.

What I usually do (after a few ruined mugs due to trial and error), I do mine for 60 seconds but I put the mug to be sublimated into the press and the temp will always drop due to the cold surface of the mug. The spec on paper and mugs say it should be pressed for 5 minutes which is extreme, once the temp goes back up to pressing temp i then go to the timer for 60 seconds and perfect every time, it usually takes about one minute or so for the press to hit pressing temp before I go to timer so max time I would say for the mug in the press is around 2:30 to 3 minutes total.
Previously I would over cook the mug and blacks would turn brown when doing for the stated 5 minutes also when not pressed long enough, a faded print is the result.
