Hello Everyone,

I'm a Newbie here,
Can anyone help me out with a little problem i'm having with my Epson S22 printer?

The Cyan ink isn't printing, I have tried to head clean quite a few times-still nothing.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also How is best to get great quality images- colour profile, paper etc? Any Tips,

I also ran the S22 for a VERY short time, nothing but issues! I have given up with it now and just purchased a Ricoh from martin @ BMS, you will waste more ink than it's worth with the S22, bite the bullet and upgrade is my advise.
If funds are an issue and you want to continue with the Epson, what I have done in the past is get some cleaning fluid, take out all the ink carts, dip a cotton bud in the fluid and gently clean the area where the ink cart sits in the printer. Leave the fluid to 'work' for about an hour then clean away any excess. Drop the carts back in and do an ink check it may work, if not do one more head clean and leave for about half an hour. If this dosn't work repeat process once more, if that fails give up and beat the printer up with a nice big mallet LOL
This is the reason why I changed and think you find most others that 'tried' with the S22 also change.

i am sorry but i dont think touching the inserts with cotton buds will help :)
you will have to squirt some fluid INSIDE the head to clean nozzles.
And this never fail on my epsons.

@ Paul, didn't want to suggest the 'squirt' method but yes, worth a go if all else fails - you have nothing to loose

I believe the heads sit above a pad when docked and this is the pad that you need to put some head cleaning fluid on if you dont want to 'squirt' with a syringe from above. To get at the pad they suggest you may need to get the heads to move out and then quickly unplug the printer. Soak the pad in solution and then when you put power back to the printer the heads should move back and sit in the solution. Often takes a day or more to dissolve the blockage this way however.

Why not put the genuine cartridges into the printer and see if it works fine. If it does then the printer is fine - it's your ink or your refillable cartridges. There is no point cleaning the heads with solution if that isn't the problem!

Are you using a CISS or refillable cartridges?
What ink are you using?
How often do you use it? (everyday, once a week...?)
do you print a lot in one go, or just a few things at a time?

On the subject of quality you will need an ICC profile creating that is specific to your ink and printer (assuming you haven't already got one
