OMG. DO NOT TRY OUT WIN 8
I have spent all week trying to get back to where I was months ago.
I know a lot was my fault as I damaged my external HD a while ago and never got back to redoing it.
I have all my personal stuff. IE photos and docs on a partition and I guess thanks for small mercies?
BUT. I do not have most of my programmes.
I have spent all weekend re intalling printers plotters ets, (Expert 24 was a killer)
I am now stuck at the last hurdle. I know help is here.
I have the programme for the power driver on my backup but I do not have the drivers for the gel sprinter. (win 7)
Once I have my Richoh 3300n set back up I can get my act together and make some proper bloody recovery discs.
Please help

Many thanks
Tony

Ricoh have these on their website. It's quite a length URL but we have it on our website you can click through then (http://www.printerowners.co.uk/sublimat ... rinter.htm) and this takes you to the GXe3300 driver download page.

Sawgrass don't yet have a Win8 version of Powerdriver so I can't put Win8 on my PC yet.

Which version of Win8 did you try upgrading to?

Hi Mark,
I upgraded to win 8 pro.
It is just so different. I couldnt find anything. It had compatability problems with everthing I use, all my printers my plotter.
The worst of it was I couldnt go back. It wiped 7 off and I had no restore points. Plus as my windows was preinstalled I lost that too.
I had to borrow a lap top and download a copy from microsoft and use my product code off my sticker. All well and good. But No. There were no drivers for the internet so i couldnt connect.
After much searching and entering serial numbers etc I found the ethernet drivers and eureka I was able to get things back to normal after many hours updating etc.
I have spent a lot of time re installing and now just need to do my gel printer.
I did not like it at all. Even without the compatability problems I would not want it. Things are hidden in the corners and it seems very long winded to get to some things.
On a plus side it turns on and off quickly.
Any others had a delve into the realms of Win 8 and what did you think?

We have 7 on all our machines, except on which we have to keep as XP to run our wide format scanner, as I couldn't get the SCSI card drivers to work in 7. Am a bif iffy about 8, except I am may try it on my little laptop.

Mrs Maggot, you are not alone, I don't intend giving up XP unless I absolutely have no choice.

I would like XP on a modern spec machine, running from RAM - it would go like stink !
