can i get away without a Teflon pillow for flock/vinyl onto hoodies..... primarily onto the back, and logo on front left breast....
80% certain i will need one for the sleeves ...

any other alternatives before i have to spend out another £50/60 on pillows :rolleyes:

Keep your money mate and spend them on vinyl. If you really need to rise your garment then use old mousmat

i thought about the mouse mat solution, but wasn't to sure of the results.....
Do you HAVE to have padding even when doing flock on the back ?...these are zipper hoodies, not the pull over ones, if it makes any difference

Well.. I can only speek for myaepf but i never had teflon pillows and wasdoing alright...
If you need to print across the zip then i would use some mouse mats.

if you are going down the sleeve, simply offset the folded sleeve away from the seam, you can then press without pillow, make sure the bulky part - top seam is not under the press. if you think you do need a teflon sleeve - make one - large teflon baking sheet, thin layer of foam or silicone baking mat, and sew it all round, curving one end will help it go into the sleeves easier. or use a silicone baking matt and slip that in

I use mousemats for pressing a lot of items including garments with buttons (polo shirts) and for tiles etc. They seem to do a good job.

\Just a thought, on the back of the hoodies, you simply load the hoodie onto the press, bottom first, so the pouch is under the press plate and you are only pressing on one layer, the hood etc, will be infront of you off the press, then you are on a nice flat surface and wont need anything - we press probably getting on for 50/60 hoodies a month and it works for us
