Does anyone know how to put a watermark on to a finished photo, so when its sent to the customer as a proof, they can't print it off.
I can't seem to find it anywhere in all the tools etc.
Thanks in advance for any help

Simply write on the picture with text tool and then lower opacity down to 50%
do it all on layer window.

Hi Christine
You can use output in bridge cs6 to print a pdf with you water mark on the pdf.
Print the Pdf using adobe acrobat and having your colour-space set to RGB and let acrobat print as automatic ,(No ICC profile) just your regular photo paper settings.
Or in CS6 photoshop use the text tool to put you text ie Proof Andrea Duncan Photography use the tool to set the text diagonally and set the opacity to 20 to 30 % and
you can proof the photo and leave it water marked .
In bridge output you can set the dpi to72,(Low Rez) lock printing and watermark the photo and create as PDF slide show and email the proof to your customer, I send a link to download Adobe acrobat.
So many people have smart phones now, they just email you back.
Regards Ian

Like Paul, I use layers - create a layer above the picture and add the watermark to that layer (text or graphic) then lower opacity down so watermark is just visible.
