Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and sublimation. I think it's great you can print onto loads of different things which will be sought after in our local area.

I am looking for advice on which things to buy as we have nothing at the moment.

The plan is to buy a brother printer with some larger cartridges and some ink for it, profiling is no problem as I own a spyder that can do it for me. I will be looking for cheaper ink as the brother is not supported anyway. Not sure on what size printer yet though. A4 or A3?

Then I plan on getting a mug press and a normal press, not sure if to get the coralgraph one or try bms, anyone know which is the better quality and any reviews on them?

We would like to sell mugs, phone cases which I think will be a bit hit, coasters, and other bits and bobs.

In the future we plan on doing Tshirts but at the moment this is not the priority.

If anyone can help with any of this it would be ideal :)

Ay other things we will need to make this a success?
Kind Regards
Ian

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum.

You'll find many answers to your questions on here already but feel free to ask away if you can't find what you need :-)

We don't discuss cheaper/third party inks on the forum due to the Sawgrass small format printer patent. Again, you'll see this mentioned around the forum.

As a newbie to sublimation the Ricoh setup is hard to beat. Easy to setup and maintain, gets you up and running quickly, therefore making money more quickly! lol. The Brother printers are getting good reports but as unsupported printers you get just that, no official support.

I have been searching the forum for the last few days, trying to get answers. I did notice about the 3rd party inks, that's why I didn't ask no specific questions on it :)

I do like the look of the Ricoh but have no problems dealing with CISS's as both my normal printer have them, a Epson R2880 with a Permajet CISS and a cheapo HP with a cheapo CISS that works flawlessly :)

Well, I went down the A3 brother route and have found it works quite successfully (if you get flat (not curled) sublimation paper and use 'plain paper' settings).

There is a load of useful information here and I am sure you will get a lot of help if needed.
