Attempting to do my slates with my new press and seem to be running into problems.
Tried my old settings, 420 seconds medium-heavy pressure. BUt it came out weird.
Went heavy and 450 seconds and the attached image is what i have, its fine around edges but the centre is still funny!!
Tried another at 9 minutes at medium pressure (as bsm recommend) but that was worse!

Didyou preheat the slate and silicone mat first ?
On the firt slates we done had a similar problem but then took advice of others and started to do the above now its rare we get a problem.

I always use these when doing my slates as i found i was having problem after problem with silicon mat

i simply tape about 6 together with heatproof tape and hey presto never had a single problem and i've printed 100's using this method.

Do you mean on top of each other ?

Yeah just put about 6 on top of each other and tape them at each end just to hold them together (this makes them easier to handle).
