Hi guys I got an epson 445 with refillable cartridges a while ago it worked grand until I tried to refill the cartridges and the printer no longer recognised the cartridges. I Tried taking out the cartridges truning it off for an hour then then turning back on and reinstalling the cartridges. Does anyone know whats wrong?

All Epson printers use small microchips to monitor ink usage. Once they say the ink cartridge is empty then simply filling an ink cartridge with ink won't reset the chip back to full status unless you are using an auto reset chip on a cartridge or you have a chip resetting device.

No sorry i was a bit vague, its a stylus sw445w.

The cartridges I have are a generic refillable brand with a re-setter where you touch the 2 points to reset them. They worked grand at until i went to refill them. Im looking at starting again with the right equipment if I cant get it sorted. Is it possible the printer has been programed as not to accecpt the refillable cartridges.
