Just read that Ebay are HALVING the discount for Top Rated sellers from 20% to 10% as from May1st. They really are thieving b******ds. So as a seller now you cant give bad feedback to poor buyers, you have no rights against someone marking your dsr down (If they says its crap its crap) and if they say they havent had it you have to replace or refund. Now they want to take the discount by HALF!
Trouble is you cant do without it.
Grrrrrr.

You have to view Ebay as an advertising medium or you would go mad. We get a lot of work from Ebay that they never get any money for ;0)
Unless you are spending massive bucks going out and setting a shop up is not going to give you as massive coverage. Facebook is getting there but not yet (Having said that someone posted one of our products on their facebook page and we sold loads from it)

this is true about ebay now...
last week i had some plonker giving me negative feedback for my profile service! it was £9.99 all in. he put in feedback "said free postage!"
i was little cinfused as it was free as file was sent via email. i contacted HIM. NOT INTERESTED WITH REPLYING.... CONTACTED EBAY. SORRY WE cant do anything about this.... bunch of thieves! but you should see ebay guy how sorry he was for my bad feedback...

They are robbers but with all the crap about ebay you'd be hard pushed to equal the exposure and revenue they generate for you compared to a facebook store and own website.

aye john but....
comparing having an ebay shop - or just having an ebay business acc
can you still get the same exposure with just an ebay business acc ?
and starting out from scratch is gonna take someone ages to get a decent rep built up....then you got what was said above to contend with...is it still worth it i ask ?

Shame they dont mark the buyers down when they take a week to pay and then mark you down for slow delivery.
In fact when you look at it its a joke.

"Ebayers of the world revolt" has no one started a FB group yet ?? seems to be the only thing big companies take notice of, although i would imagine they will look every poster up and cross reference them and ban them from ebay for life - so glad i dont use ebay
