Re: Epson B1100 - Constant Blockages!!

Hi there,
If anyone can help me with this I will be eternally grateful as I am just about to launch my whole system off the nearest bridge... It's sooo frustrating!! Here goes..
I am using an Epson B1100 with Artainium CISS.
To cut a very long story short, I am on my third B1100 in 18 months - each time I am having the same problem. The first two printers were 'lost' due to blocked print heads as I wasn't using them often enough. My most recent replacement (only a couple of weeks old) is already playing up! I started by running nozzle checks every 2/3 days to keep things clear, however this week I haven't been able to and it has been left for a week. Surprise surprise, when I tried to use it today I just cannot get it printing. It's missing magenta and one of the blacks, so everything is printing grey! I've run four head cleans but they've made absolutely no difference. I have also tried re-priming but this hasn't worked either - in fact I am now concerned that I have an actual 'air hole' where the syringe has been into the cartridge so many times (for the three printers). Is this likely to affect the print quality?
I will install some original cartridges tomorrow to see if I can clear it with them, but if anyone has any suggestions at all I would honestly love to hear them... I am now seriously considering giving up on this altogether, it seems it's more hassle than it's worth :o(
Please help!
Thanks guys,
Karen x

Hi Karen! this is supported set up so you should be able to send it back.
regards to ciss i would drop it from the nearest bridge and invest in refillable cartridges. no the best solution but no more air in the heads ;)

Hi Paul
Thanks for your answer..
When you say supported set up, do you mean I should contact Sawgrass? I haven't contacted BMS yet this time (where I bought the original system) as I got the replacement printers a bit cheaper from a local Epson supplier so I'm not sure where that leaves me with support!

Your next step to install the genuine cartridges is the correct process. This should verify if it is the printer or the ink flow in the EasyFlow system.

When you reprime do you get ink or lots of bubbly ink coming into the syringe? Lots of bubbly ink suggest an air leak in the system. In which case the cart & tube system can be replaced.

Lots of air and not much ink at all, this is why I was wondering if using the syringe so much would cause a problem by letting air into the carts from the top?

Sounds like I need to look into re-fillable carts! Could really do with getting the CISS back up and running for now though - bit skint!!!

Then it sounds like you need to replace your cart & tube assembly on the EasyFlow system. If you'd like to email us with your account reference/ invoice number relating to the original purchase of the EasyFlow system from us then we can take it from there.
