I am new to this sublimation printing. The question I have is I have a epson 1400 printer with normal ink in, is it possible to convert it to sublimation inks?

if not I will have to buy another printer

Yes you can change the printer over. You can use refil carts or a bulk ink (CIS) system. I would print a few colour blocks to make sure the old ink is through and the sublimation ink working.
