i take it its the "London 2012" you are questioning rather than the school logo. are the school having any other olympic reference put on it ?? it could after all refer to a school trip to London in 2012 i would put it in a simple font under the school logo

Judging by this:
http://www.london2012.com/about-us/our- ... #protected and
http://www.london2012.com/documents/bra ... -marks.pdf, it appears that even the use of the words "London 2012" are protected by the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006.
You could browse the website further to see if there are permitted uses of the words.
Personally, I think it's utterly ridiculous that any organisation is allowed to prevent others from using a generic phrase like "London 2012", but they have done, so we're stuck.

They are extremely uptight about the IP. In certain cases you cant mention the word LONDON if it has Olympic colours in it, because you are alluding to the Olympics.

Get the school to contact the olympics direct - they may give them permission as they have a scheme going with schools

Failing that, just put the 2012 above the London

From the way I read it, I don't think changing the order of the words makes any difference.
I suppose you could use roman numerals - "London MMXII", or hexadecimal - "London 7DC", or binary - "London 11111011100"...
