Hi all,

it's a while since I have had problems that I cannot fix myself but I have been having major problems with my sublimation printer.

I was getting a little 'blow out' before xmas so I ran the cleaner through the heads (little like the zap stuff) which has worked with other printers and then ran it again - all seemed to be ok.

I have only printed a little since being back and have just printed off some bibs. I thought I noticed a little yellow twinge when I printed the bib below but after pressing you can see that there is a yellow haze and also a little bit of blow-out.

I also printed off two other bibs in blue (just blue) and they printed and pressed with no problem!

Any idea what's happening??

Any help greatly appreciated - I have done a head print check and also a clean and eveything prints out no problem. I have also removed the cartridges and replaced with no joy.

Just thinking out loud - does anyone know if re-installing the icc profile may resolve this (i.e there may be a problem with the profile?)

No buddy - it's the same on other substrates, tried a coaster earlier and got the same thing.

I don't think the substrate/item or paper is the issue but more the ink (keep the paper in a sealed bag between uses).

Hi Adam,
Are you using stored printed paper, I had this on my Ricoh - print on paper looked fine but after storing for a few weeks there was a yellow tinge appearing, worse when pressed.

do u think the yellow is the yellow ink itself?
might be worth swapping just that cart if u have a spare 1
it looks like the yellow has seeped out doesn't it?

Hi John - I just tried some more paper I had (new box of another brand) and I could still see the yellow haze and blow out .......................

Can't change the yellow cartridge as it's a ciss system.

I don't think the 'yellow' itself is the problem as the blowout happens around blue and black, and the yellow haze happens around red?

not a clue mate sorry
unless the carts on the kiss are getting worn and giving too much ink

oh have u changed the settings in print
maybe try if you have the setting to not give it so much ink?
i have a feature somewhere that allows you to say how much ink to put on the page if that makes sense
so if it's glossy paper i can only put a little on etc

Well - I don't have a clue!

But, I have other stuff to do so I have turned off the printer and I'll run some more cleaner through it when I close.

Hopefully, it may be that there is still a little clog left and this could be causing the problems ................. hopefully!
