Hi. I was thinking about baseball caps lately and wonder if they primt well with vinyl? I know they would look best embroidered but all i could afford right now os new cap press
So here is the question... How easy it is? Whats better looking? Flex or flock? How do you deal with gaps betwen stiches? And finaly is it worth it???

So... Any on printing caps on here????

I have done caps before using vinyl and small transfers. The are to press isn't particularly large but the end result is very good. Something I'm hoping to get back into again if I can find a cheap press

What did you use justin? Flock or flex? And did u used 6 panel caps?

Not sure which caps we used, I know they had a central panel at the front for easier pressing. That said you can sometimes get away with going over the seam.

Probably flex and flOck but I'd tend to stick to flex for easier colour overlay.

press quite a lot of caps like doing them with flock, i have a cap press which at the moment has a faulty thermostat, just gets hotter, so looking for a spare part for that, but can still do them one at a time, using thermometer

I've used flex on some caps, better to get what's called a 5 panel as they don't have the front seam. Been thinking of using some of the 3d Puff transfer on them, think it would look quite good. To experiment it's always worth a look at Ralawise for their monthly RalaDeal currently they have some starting at 34p each. Cheap way to learn the basics of caps.

done loads of caps to date,using ultra cut from xpres
6 panel caps and just gone straight over the seams
no problems to date

our cap press gets as much use as any of our presses
very handy for breast logos and sleeves

I found that if using flock over a seam and your pressure is too high, the flock actually tore, by adding in an extra piece of silicon (3mm) on top of the flock i didn't get these tears.
I also use the cap press for a variety of other pressing situations
