I'm printing a solid block of cyan at the bottom of a mug. Leaving a small space between the block and the edge. When I press it I notice that it is blowing out in a couple of areas into the blanks space, this ink actually looks slightly darker here. I'm also getting that striping texture a little through-out the block.

Tried all the usual things, I thought it might be pressure. I wonder if it could be too much pressure and it's creasing the paper?

You'd need to post a pic to help properly I guess. Sounds like the mug taper for the blowout and slight lack of heat if there is striping. Wouldn't think it can be too much pressure creating the issue if you had the paper tight. Cyan is often one of the hardest colour to get an even print on. If it is the mug taper then it's either raise the print or a bit more pressure. Striping probably needs more time to get a bit more even heat over the area.
