I have an image 85mm high x 120mm wide.... I've been messing around with the placement - my thoughts are it looks better centered on the mug - so theres a white gap to the left and right of approx 5 cms each... what would you do?

Yes or maybe have it so the image is facing outward when held with the right hand??

or perhaps trim the image and print it twice?

I'd trim and resize to put in on both sides of the mug. I'd probably work it to two images approx. 3"x3.75".

Always awkward these, either single centred image like you say or as suggested try and print twice on the mug. I have a few stock frames that I can slide awkward size photos onto but it's whether the customer wants a frame as well :-)

I had the same issue with trying to place square images on my mugs. In the end I did one on each side then a vertical triplet in between. One thing I did consider was a mirror image equally placed on each side of the mug. Might be worth looking at?

Must be some great options for these awkward sized pictures. I often get cropped images and they don't want a frame around them. It was always the same with canvasses and wrapping the image around the frame or just inserting a dead space/pattern etc. to wrap around......let's get our heads together and sort this one!
