hi. what you mean by diferent application? what apps did you used?

also did you created profiles in your printer driver? if so then little change may change everything. in your case when you changin from mirror to normal printing.

also please tell us what printer you use, ink and profile if you use one.

It sounds to me as though you are manually creating profiles and using different applications. You should have profiles supplied with your sublimation ink which are supported in specific graphics packages. There should be no difference in colour by clicking the tick box to mirror image. Do you have a perfect nozzle check pattern prior to printing? Are you printing to the whiter side of the paper?

I have tried using the supplied profile, which I have been using all the time, but this still does not produce the correct output.
My printer is Epson R1400 - nozzle check all OK - using correct side of paper (whiter side) and using the inks that were supplied and which I have been using for some time.
This was supplied by Xpres. Software is Corel Draw.

I only created a new profile as I did not know what else to do. I have a spider pro3 which I have used numerous times for other printers that I have.
As I said, if I print the image from Corel onto the dye sub paper not mirrored, I get a good result, when I mirror the image and apply to the mug, it comes out totally different colour.

as far as I am concern spyder 3pro cant profile printers

If you have bought everything from xpres I'm sure they have support where they can connect straight into your computer and adjust your setting

It sounds to me as though some settings have changed in your setup. Either Xpres can remote login to you, or you can read through the setup guides for Corel and the Sublimation ink system. Simply ticking a box in the printer settings to mirror image cannot change the colours unless something else is changing as well. It's always worthwhile checking your settings even if you don't believe you have changed anything.

I'm not familiar with your profiling tool but at a guess the process is basically you print a test pattern off, measure it with the colorimeter device and the 'feedback' from that device is what the program uses to create the profile?

Did you take your profiling readings off a piece of transfer paper or off an actual item that had been pressed? You'll find there is quite a difference between what you can see on the paper and what appears on the final product; the inks change quite drastically when heated.

I can't see why mirroring the image would affect it's colour. Personally I just flip the image in Photoshop as I create different print masters for each product... There must be some other setting you're altering - perhaps not an obvious one - when you turn on 'mirror printing'.

Thanks for reply, I am taking the readings from the Tru-Pix paper and then this is used to create the printer profile. As I have said all the time, if I print the image without mirror onto the same paper, then it's fine but when reversed and applied to mug, I get a totally different colour. I agree that by just reversing the image without any other changes, the final image should be the same.
I'm lost for an explanation to this, other than replacing all my inks (expensive idea!) just can't figure it out.
