Hi there,

I have just started to design some mugs for my online shop, and I have a question for you all!

I know that you cannot simply pull an image off of Google and put it on a mug, however, if you make the image into a "silhouette" type image, then surely this is okay?

Would be great for some clarification if this is okay?

What you have produced is a derivative work; you would need a licence for the original which included the right to alter it. Other wise it's not only a derivative work but an infringing one too and actually compounds the infringement!

The simple answer is no, unfortunately. Its like redrawing the addidas logo and using it.
