I know I've probably asked this question before (I've asked so many) but is it normal sign vinyl that can be used/is used on vehicles?
I have been asked to do a few rear windscreens and also decorate a few motorbikes (not the exhaust) so I just wanted to make sure.
I have looked on MDP and seen all the different variations of vinyl/carbon fibre stuff etc but I need the standard stuff that can be used on vehicles .................. if it it's sign vinyl then 'BONUS' as I use this all the time for signs etc.
Sorry - if I'm going over things again

Hi Adam,
There are lots of makes/types, the one I use is called Macal 9800 pro - it's a 7 - 8 year outdoor vinyl. Don't make the mistake of buying cheap 3 year vinyl, it'll only last a few years if you're lucky and either fade, go brittle of loose its adhesion. There are different vinyl's for different applications though, the one I've mentioned is the only type I've used and is ideal for vehicle livery but I don't use it on anything with deep recesses.
Cheers John

Thanks John,
I use this on signs:
http://www.mdpsupplies.co.uk/croracal651.asp I know it's not up to the market stuff like you use but do you think this will do the job? (and I have avoided the 3yr stuff since day 1).
Ref the Macal 9800 pro, is this the one you mean?

Thanks for replying John - it's appreciated

Yes Adam, the first link you made is the vinyl I use - it could be sold by a lot of different companies but ask for it by name and they'll be able to supply. Or ask for a suitable equivalent and they maybe able to advise. Aslong as its not the cheapy stuff you'll be able to offer some sort of guarantee.

i use 7yr vinyl, there is not much price difference really, and you know you are offering a better deal to the customer, i rencently got caught out though, some really small decals 1" x 4" with a very curly script, had to give up in the end, could not weed it successfully - told the guy could we change font, he said no, so i refused the job - easier than my eyesight and patience lol

Thanks Laura - so this stuff:
