i use corel draw all the time, then signblazer for my vinyl and i am fine and happy with it

if i design something in corel for a mug, if i then export it as a jpeg, or a PDF file - the colours i have designed it in change ie when i open the file up on the same computer screen, with the corel file underneath, the corel file will show orange and blue, and the Jpeg or PDF will show red and blue ? i have tried working in RGB, and CMYK on corel, and exporting in both, i have tried converting to curves and not converting, yet it always ends up the same the orange as if by magic - comes up as red on the screen, and print. I know for printing i will need a colour profile, which is being sorted, but whats confusing me is the colour change on screen as it were, between the corel image and the saved image in other formats.

if you use corel and can help please let me know, if you dont use corel, you probably wont know the answer lol

Why are you exporting it as a jpeg and what are you using to open the jpeg?

Jpeg compresses the file, you lose info with every save.

i save it at 100% size so minimum compression i hoped ??

same if i open it with picassa, windows photo editor, but interestingly, and thanks for thinking, with corel photo editor the colours are as per corel mmmmmm, interesting

But if you design in coreldraw why export - just print it straight from corel and save it as a coreldraw file

BTW 100% doesn't mean anything - its just a starting point and is still compressing the file and losing info on every save.

It might be the colour settings under 'tools' in Corel. You can choose to display printer colours or actual colours, and changing that setting does make a big difference.

i will try that, but the new printer is not so keen, on corel for some reason will give it another go

If its for mugs there's no point in exporting it to any other program - just print straight from Coreldraw.

print stright from corel is not a solution. Whats if laura want to send file to show customer? What the???
Laura. Make sure when you save your artwork you assign profile to you graphic. I always chose sRGB but you can also chose AdobeRGB but sRGB is recomended. then make sure your graphic browser can show pictures in this color assigment. I dont use picassa but i use irfanview. Under menu you should find some color settings. Just set it to sRGB.

Paul, Laura is printing mugs using a file she's created in Coreldraw then exported as a jpeg to another program. From that other program she is printing it out and using it for mugs.

It makes no sense - print from coreldraw is the solution and save as a coreldraw file not a jpeg

If its for proofing save as a pdf but check your pdf settings
