I've decided to give up on mug printing as I value my reputation, it seems that all mug suppliers come with different issues, MDP mugs fade way to quick and Xpres mugs seem have have delivery issues, smashing mugs etc.. and I have no clue if they have any fading issues. In the past I used RN coating mugs and there was no issues at all, I won't print on mugs that I can't trust.

That's a great shame but I understand where you're coming from. When Xpres went out of stock of 5013 at Xmas we tried the 11oz and it was a disaster, pretty much came to the same conclusion as you tbh.

We have spoken to overseas suppliers who were keen for the forum to start supplying members with mugs but consistency following initial samples is a huge risk.

I buy from Xpres all the time and never had an issue with quality. Occasional broken mug, but they always offered to refund. TBH never took them up on that as it was only the occasional mug and as I deal in bulk orders I could never be bothered to claim it.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but I only use the 11oz as that is what my customers have always asked for. Pretty much all my mugs are sold across retail and not had any complaints yet.

I have been using Xpres 11oz Orca mugs and I'm yet to get a box which is flaw free. Not always broken but full of really obvious pinholes, chips at the edge that have been coated over, scratches. The last box had 10 like this, I can't use them for sales so just using them to test new designs but I'm getting really fed up with it as well. They are advertised as AAA quality but honestly from November onwards the boxes I've had have not been great.

I suppose I should switch to the 5013 that I've never tried, the only reason I haven't is all my work is set up for 11oz and they are 10 oz.

I stick to 11oz mug because I had customers say "The mug was a bit smaller than expected" when I did 10oz.
If I switched to 10oz now that would be quite some rejigging of designs.
