Post pressing T shirts

Hi
I know we all pre press T shirts (or should) but does anyone post press the T shirt after printing with hot flex and is there good and bad points doing this

Maybe for a few seconds if peeling the backing off has been difficult or I have used a low temperature, but overpressing can be as bad as underpressing.
When I press DTF transfers I just rest the heat platen onto the shirt for a two or three seconds (with a cover sheet) without clamping it down.
