I bought a handful of 12oz Latte Mugs to have a play with, and tried my best to make a PSD file where the design follows the shape of the mug without distorting once printed. The design I made is fairly good and gives me 100% coverage
(Attached here if you want to download it) The top half of a design seems to be stretched quite a bit but I'd like something that gives a perfect representation when printed. If anyone could share, it would be mug appreciated!

We tend to buy objects made by this lady selling on etsy if that helps.

Thanks, but does that include a printable template too?

Depending upon how deep you want to go into this, you can use
Inkscape (Free) to produce unrolled truncated cones of any size with
this extension.
I've just tried it out with some made-up settings off the top of my head and this is what it produces ...

Checking the 'Dimensions' checkbox in the dialogue adds dimensions to the drawing.

Once finished, you can easily save and import into Photoshop or whatever for further processing and image warping.

You could also try this online effort ...

Thanks for your efforts, however the issue isn't the cone shape (which I have created myself) It's how the image is warped around the arch template, to accurately be represented on the printed mug.
As you can see below, the embedded file is roughly half foreground and half sky, with a straight horizon.

Once embedded into the smart object, the horizon appears lower, with the sky taking up 3/5ths of the image.

Once printed onto the mug, the horizon is still not in the centre, and it swoops upwards on the right hand side. I'm looking for a PSD file that will accurately warp an image and retain it's form.

After placing the image into the Smart Object, did you then use the Warp Tool to warp the Smart Object layer?
A bit like this ...

You'll notice that the horizon line stays at a constant height over the whole of the mug wrap and should thus be centred around the mug when pressed.

I don't think so, I'm not sure how you managed to do that
