Hi everyone,
I would like to ask if can you recommend a heavy duty sublimation printer, please? I got a Epson ET-14000 which is a A3+ printer but I won't need it any more as I go to focus my business only on mugs.
Is someone knows any reliable printer to print around a 1000 or 1500 mugs per month please, let me know.
PD: I was looking for a Epson L805 but it's hard to find it.
Any help is well appreciate.

I use just a standard ecotank epson I bought form inkexperts using their mug paper and although I only make about 50-100 mugs per month I have owned it for a few years without much issue and it’s still going strong.
Gripes are…
paper not picking up properly resulting in paper jam/paper out errors.
Black ink on the edges of the paper meaning I have to trim every sheet or mugs become ruined.

Making that many mugs I would probably invest in a larger machine though roll fed rather than sheet fed.

Have you tried cleaning the rubber roller in the pick up tray? They tend to get covered in residue from the coated paper that causes pick up issues.
I find a small piece of application film will take the dust off.

That it's the main issue I have with the ET-14000 (with inks a paper from Ink Experts) which is a A3+ it take me around an hour to print 17 A4 pages for sublimation. Apart of that, the paper get stuck or pass through the printer without print because the feeder...

I think it has been superceeded by the L8050.

The Epson 2750 & 2850 are both decent 4 colour printers that handle the mug size paper from Ink Experts very well. We have put a lot of mugs through these over the past couple of years, recently we switched back to our 6 colour A3+ machine simply for a slightly better print.

We're about to move premises and will be looking to sell these 2 smaller printers as they are getting little use right now. We're not a million miles from you so PM me if interested.

Yes done this a lot over the years but doesn’t make a difference.
some sheets fly through others will just not budge.

I bought last year the Epson 2850 printer and it only last 4 months... The printer was fail to get the 120gsm Style sublimation paper from Ink Expert and the Inkjet S-Race paper. The paper passed all through the printer without print.
I tried to clean the printer with a cotton with a bit of water and washing up liquid but it doesn't work for me. Right now, with the Epson ET-14000 I can't even send 2 files to print. I need to print one by one otherwise, it won't get the paper. It's tedious to work like that.

That's a shame, we've always got on ok with these as day to day printers. Does sound like you need something heavier duty but at A4 size you're struggling. The L805 was a cracking little printer if you can get hold of one.

I think that is an endemic fault with this entire dynasty of printers. I have always had the same problem with all of the 1400's and 1500W's I have owned (which are essentially the same printer internals as the ET14000 and L1800). Major pain when you need to leave the printer unattended - only to find an hour later that the second sheet has miss fed.

I understand that the issue has been resolved in the new ET18100 (now coming down in price - just seen it for £522)
