Hi all, I am new to ovens and have recently started using the Blizzard Bc01. I am sublimating on Orca AAA 11oz mugs using Texprint DT heavy paper. I am currently using 170/20 and this is getting me consistent results however I have noticed when comparing to the same design done in the mug press that is slightly less sharp especially on text. Reducing the time with this temp did not help and ended up with image being too light.

I have seen a previous post where times and temps for ovens were discussed and saw that 160/20 was mentioned. I've also seen 190-200 discussed and I'm a bit confused on which way to go.

I just wondered if to improve sharpness of prints if it's better to lower the temp to 160 and keep the time the same or go to a higher temp and shorter time. I will experiment but just wanted to ask your experiences with this as I don't want to waste too many mugs in the process.

I am using a salter oven thermometer.

Also I have read about dunking mugs in warm water when taking them out to improve sharpness and stop the sublimation. I have tried with and without and not noticed any difference personally.

Its all about experimenting with your particular set up, what works for me will be different to what works for you.

Only thing to ensure is that you are using decent paper (which you are) and that your mug wraps form nice and tight around the mug. After time the wraps will deterioate and you will notice this first when "sharpness" is more important such as text heavy mugs. Try and new mug wrap at the same temp and time you have been using and you may see a difference
