I have been out of the business for just over a year and I have lost track of whats going on in the sublimation world.
What are the latest printers on the market? I believe the small Ricoh printers are no more. What has replaced them?
Suitable for small jobs of 50 to 100 mugs.
Thanks
John

Hi Earl and good to hear from you after so long
I think the Epson Ecotanks are the best out there at this present time. Mine are all CMYK but then for mugs that is more than adequate. No doubt if you wanted to go for more colour acuracy (on Unisub boards for example) then I suspect you would want a 6 colour ecotank.

Speak to Ink Experts about the new Epson, it's a replacement for the L1800. They've had it on test for a while so it should be almost ready for market if tests were all ok. Initial impressions looked very promising.

Hi, I still pop in here to have a look and see whats happening. So many of the old members are no longer on here and I wonder if it was Covid or some other reason they have all gone. Im happily retired after luckily selling my business to a local who runs an up and coming fashion firm. I also had a small shop on a campsite where I have a summer home and its for this that the new people want a subli printer.
Ive had a look at the firms where I used to buy and found this.
Starter kit Epson EcoTank A4 incl. Sublisplash® Driver | Sublimation printers | Printing systems | Sublimation | Print Equipment
Is this what you are referring to?
Thanks for your help and I hope your business is still going strong.
Earl

Sublisplash is an ink specially made for this firm, Printequipment. This ink is very vibrant against the regular inks available. Normal ink is good enough to be honest and around 100euros cheaper for the set.
An A4 printer is what these people are looking for. Sorry if I didnt make that clear in my original post. The small shop they have is in an old garage on a campsite so they will not be looking for mass production.
Thanks Justin , hope business is good for you too.
Earl. ( or John, depending on my mood.)

Yes I know Sublisplash inks.
If you're looking at A4 of course there are cheap options but I thought you were looking for 6 colour? My bad lol.

@ 100 euros that would be perfect for what you want.
I personally favour Ink Tec inks but I know that Sublisplash are decent enough.
Just to say, is that if all you want is a jobbing printer to bang out mugs then an Ecotank 1811 will absolutely be spot on. Grab one from any half decent computers shop and load it with Ink Tec inks and you are good to go.
Lastly, if you do a search on here you will find a tutorial on how I print full bleed on custom cut paper which I find a god send for printing mugs as there is no faff on cutting them out after printing.
