My brother wants some security labels made but he wants each label to have its own unique serial number starting from a001 up to z299 for example.
is there an easy way to do it in versaworks?
I have seen variable data printing but is that the same process for serial numbering.
Does anyone know how to add serial numbers to a print job?

Yes you can do this in Versaworks. I did it quite a while back and it worked well.
The bottom button in settings is VARIABLE DATA and this is where you can control it. There are some really good You Tube tutorials to show you exactly how to do it.
Having said that, last time I find it quicker to knock the files up in InDesign and send those to Versaworks. That is probably more to do with the fact that I know InDesign very well though.
