Bn-20 captop when to change?

When do I need to change the captop on my bn-20?
I change the wipers every 3-6 months depending on wear but never yet changed the captop.

Will the VW software tell me when it’s due or do I need an engineer to come out and do it?

It wont tell you to do it.
Basically look if its oversaturated with ink and rubber seal is distorted. this will be indication to change one.
I have this machine for years and is always swapped when I have service once a year, even though, never really needed to do so. Engineer always have one in hand and he says "I am here any way so I may change to new one any way"

I’ll get one swapped out then.
It’s only £70 so not a big amount.

I wonder if they will moan that I’m refilling the waste box with absorbent pads rather than replacing it for a new one each time ?

They never checked my one and I also have some strange things in my waste ink tank
