Our set-up has been perfected from years of experience for what we do. There are no short cuts.

Blanks in the lockup 5 miles away. Printer in the shed bottom of the garden, printer upstairs,
design computer and software in the dining room. We operate a well oiled machine here. Oh yeah heat presses in the garage/packing room.

Cheers! Yeah, I can appreciate that as we have a photography business and it's always changing. Can I ask what do you use to hold stock? Racking? And on what do you house your preses? Worktops or tables?

It all depends on what space you have and items you are needing to print..... and with what level of accuracy. Easy to create a flexible workspace with some basic B&Q kitchen base/wall units and laminate counter. Need more info really to be more specific.

More important is how often you can get a carriage paid order together. If you think you can do this once or twice a week then you need to hold very little stock, and there is no need to tie up storage space. There is such a wide range of products available that you are sometimes better off keeping your money.
Stock holding is the wholesalers job.

I agree although I go one stage further and just factor the carriage in each job. Garments are the main culprit for me. The majority of mine come from Ralawise, If someone wants 3 garments then the price of the garment is calculated as cost of garment plus carriage charge divided by 3, so for example if a t-shirt costs £1.50 and carriage is £8.95. The customer will be quoted £4.48 per garment (plus a mark up, print and VAT).

If I spend enough with one supplier to get free carriage then its a bonus.

I still have bucket loads of useless sublimation blanks littering my unit though so doing the above doens't work LOL
