Hi,

Im in the autumn of my life and now have time to take up some hobbies/pastimes. I have a bit of a background with vinyl cutters and doing the artwork and stickers for rally cars.

Im trying to help a friend of my with some advertising for his fledgling business and thought it would be a good idea to do some Hoodies and T-Shirts advertising his work.

I would like to learn more about using vinyls with a heat press and will be looking for a bit a help from the forum members in the area of starter heat presses.

Hello and welcome.
If you are already doing vehicle graphics with a cutter you are nearly their re garments. Just remember to invert ( mirror ) the image before cutting.
There is a slight learning curve regarding various fabrics. Anything containing polyester is subject to 'dye migration' - the dye in the fabric will bleed through the vinyl due to the application temperature. The way around that is to use a low temp vinyl that applies at 120C.

I would recommend TMT 123 flex. It is a low temperature vinyl suitable for cotton or polyester.

Not strictly any such thing as a 'starter press'. Some are cheap and some are expensive. Some of the cheap ones are excellent, but there is no way of knowing until you buy one.
